Birthday Party!!

Hi y'all!! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had my 18th birthday party on Saturday night, and I wanted to show y'all a few pictures from the evening's festivities!!

The "Goodie-Bags"

My mother found wonderful monogrammed cosmetic bags for the guests.

Each bag had a Benefit gift card...

...a sparkly cocktail ring...

...and Lindt chocolate!!

My mom hilariously themed the party to be all about Disney Princess, so everything was wrapped in pink Princess bags!!

Here was the finished product!! They were also the place cards for the seating arrangement at the restaurant!!

The Cake

Here is my adorable cake!! It was so good, it was yellow cake with whipped cream icing!! My family and I are slowly but surely chowing down on it every night!! It is absolutely huge!!

The Party

I had such a great time and I'm so excited for my actual birthday tomorrow!!

Have a great day!!

Prepping for my birthday!!

Hello!! My birthday is coming up at the end of the month, and since it's my 18th birthday, I've decided to have a party!! I didn't have one last year (I don't know why...) so I'm super excited for this year. I'm going to have a dinner party with some of my close friends and then we're going back to my house for birthday cake and a sleepover!!

I'm going to totally shamelessly promote Paperless Post, but honestly, it's the best. I first used the website to send out my Secret Santa invitations from December, and I didn't hesitate using them for my birthday invitations!!! Here is the invite that I sent out:

Of course, I photoshopped this picture above and took out the place and address (for obvious privacy reasons) but there's a lot of room to put any details you want to add. They're super cute and they have so many options. I also adore how on the example versions of the invitations, they have the parties be "hosted" by Ernest Hemingway, Clarissa Dalloway (ironic since I just finished Mrs. Dalloway in my AP English class), Shirley Temple, and my ultimate favorite, Grace Kelly. The invitation I chose had Grace Kelly on it, so of course I had to choose it!!

I just had the epiphany to wear this dress!! I remember deciding between this dress and another pink Lilly dress for last year's Winter Formal. I haven't worn it yet, but I absolutely love it. The print is so pretty and it's pink.....and Lilly Pulitzer....so it makes perfect sense that I wear it on my 18th!!

I believe that I'm having a pink and green cake...of course...and my mom is putting in the order for it today!! It won't look like the cake shown above (obviously)!

Even though it's next Saturday, I promise to take a ton of pictures of the planning process and the actual party!!

Have a great day!! I am in a "theater showcase" this weekend at my school which will be a ton of fun. It's all student written/directed/acted plays and this is my first year being a cast member! I can't wait!! I'm also getting my stitches taken out today from my foot surgery.

Preppy New Year's Outfits

New Year's Eve is tomorrow, and with the exciting holiday comes fun parties! Here are my outfit ideas for ladies and men!

Here are my two outfits for girls! The one on the left is the more casual option (and probably the one I'm going to be wearing tomorrow night!!), and the one on the right is for fancy New Year's parties. I love anything sparkly, and pairing sparkles with more classic items such as riding boots (from Madwell) and tartan shirts (from J. Crew) makes it more appropriate and versatile! For the second outfit (which I previously mentioned in my Holiday Party Dress post), this Lilly Pulitzer dress will do the trick for New Year's parties! It's very girly yet perfect for the holiday because of the gold in the dress, as well as the gold accessories. The earrings are from Kate Spade and the shoes are from Lilly.

Since I am not an aficionado at putting together men's outfits, I consulted my ridiculously preppy brother about what to wear for New Year's. He chose his outfits from Rugby (his go-to brand) and Ralph Lauren. Again, the one on the left is the more casual option as opposed to the right side which is very fancy. The left is pretty self explanatory as well as being my brother's go to outfit for any occasion. The tweed jacket can worn with various ties and dress shirts, so there are a lot of nice options! For the right side (which my brother would wear to school if he had the chance), he chose a Ralph tux with a black watch bow tie and cummerbund. My family loooves black watch, and I think it looks so cool for New Year's!

What are y'all wearing on New Year's Eve? Let me know!!

Have a great day! I'm going back home today so I'm going to be on various planes until midnight. I'm still recovering from my mysterious week long sickness so hopefully it doesn't get worse being on the miserable plane rides all day long!

This Weekend

I'm really excited for this weekend because my school is hosting two fun events on Friday and Saturday night. On Friday, two boys in my class are throwing a techno concert...it sounds weird, I know. I'm not even that into "techno", but all my friends are going and I hope it will be fun. Unfortunately, I don't know what to wear, and since everything I own is Lilly Pulitzer, I think I'm going to have a hard time. I'll probably end up wearing jeans and something pink!

Then, on Saturday night, I am SO excited because the junior and senior classes are having a Murder Mystery party! It's a bi-annual event for upperclassmen, and I've been looking forward to it for years. The theme is "roaring 20's" so I'll be all prepared in my flapper gear. Last week, we were handed our character packets (for those who signed up) and I'm Chirp, this coat check girl who stands at the door. It sounds like a bad part, but she's involved somehow with the main guy (who's played by one of my favorite seniors). The character packet says that I should wear some time of "uniform" but I honestly don't know what to do for that, so I think I'm going to wear this really pretty black Ralph Lauren dress. It's like a shift dress, but it's sparkly and kind of 20's-esque.

I'll try to post pictures from this weekend! I'm always really bad about getting people to take pictures of me during events but now I'll be inspired to!! Have a great day y'all!!

xoxo, Hannah
