Is it weird that even though I just bought True Prep, a book I have been waiting for for months now, I have no interest in looking at it? I guess just a part of me doesn't want to read something that I don't agree with. True Prep lays out this formula for being preppy, and I don't think that's right. I don't like how prep is being reconstructed for the modern world, but the point of being preppy is for it to not ever change! For something to be eternally classic regardless of the fads! I also don't think Obama should be mentioned at all in a book about preppiness, but that's just me.
So maybe next week I'll read it. I'm just not in the mood. I think that I'll stick to my mother's idea of preppy, and not one that is a step by step guide to recreate your family into an Old Money-New England family and how to deal with your father's new wife.
This is so unlike me! I'm the most positive and upbeat person in the entire world, and yet I've written an entire post about how much I dislike a book about being preppy!
Anyway...school was great. I have interesting classes and I was fully equipped with all my adorable back to school supplies. I changed my outfit last minute; I ended up wearing a J. McLaughlin pink striped button down, navy and pink ballet flats, and I carried a Vineyard Vines bag!
I hope everyone had a great Tuesday!!
xoxo, Hannah
