Now on to the College of Charleston!
After spending Saturday afternoon and Sunday in Charleston, it was finally time for my Mother and I to see the reason why we were actually in Charleston: C of C! It was only about 5 minutes (walking) away from our hotel which was nice. We walked around the campus for a little bit to get the feeling of the place and then we went to the admissions office to wait for the information session and the tour.
Unfortunately, C of C was not my favorite. I feel awful for not liking it though!! I heard from so many people that I would, but I just wasn't enamored by it. It's a great college, just not for me! By the end of the tour, I found myself comparing it constantly to Vanderbilt. Vandy is my #1 choice, and my absolute DREAM. I was kind of let down that on my already dwindling list of colleges, I have to kind of "cross off" another college. I know that I'll probably apply to C of C, but it's not my first choice. I just need to find another college (besides Vandy (which is so ridiculously hard to get into)) that I'll fall in love with! But, the good thing about this college tour was finding out more of what I want and don't want in a college. It also inspired me to work extra hard for Vanderbilt! I've been crazy studying this whole week!!
The college itself is really pretty. I loved Charleston and the campus, but I did have a little problem with it being directly in the city. I always thought that I wanted to go to college in the city, but after visiting C of C, I kind of changed my mind. I just feel like I would be stressed all the time if I was smack dab in the middle of a huge city. I guess every city is different though, because when I went to visit Vanderbilt, I didn't feel this way at all. It's in the middle of a city, but when you're on the campus, it feels like you're in your own little oasis of college.
So next on my list of college tours is University of Richmond and SMU. I really, really want to love these colleges. I don't want to be disappointed!!
I hope y'all have a great day!!
xoxo, Hannah
