Unique Place Card Ideas

I had a lot of fun making the place cards for my wedding, but if I could do it again, I’d be a bit more creative.   I did traditional, tented cards and jazzed them up with a few layers of paper and a patterned border.  They were pretty, but there are so many unique ways to tell your guests where to sit.

I love this idea from Martha Stewart for an outdoor wedding. It’s a refreshing way to direct your guests to their seats, and a fun way to showcase a signature cocktail.

For a fall or winter wedding, these votives would make a wonderful addition. With these, guests would know where to sit, and be adding to the fullness of your centerpieces.  Also, if you’re worried about using real candles, you could always substitute flameless tea lights.

These are super cute and another great way to extend your centerpieces.

I absolutely love the idea of using “trees” to display seating cards. For a fall wedding you could put them in pots and use leaves as the actual cards.  For the winter you could do bare branches and use crystal or beaded snowflakes as the cards.  Talk about making a statement and setting the mood from the beginning of the night.

If you’re having your wedding at a vineyard or winery, or you’re just a wine enthusiast, incorporating wine corks into your seating cards is a great touch.

If you like the more traditional tented cards, but you want to kick them up a notch, try displaying them in a bed of flowers or wheat grass.
