What happened?

It's disturbing to me that I'm going to write this post, but it needs to be done. As y'all know, I love Lilly Pulitzer more than life itself. Nothing in the world seems better than being the Lilly creative designer, and I would much rather be in a Lilly shift dress than anything else. But, for the past couple of years, I feel as though Lilly has gone down hill.

Old...
Yes, they still make adorable clothes; they are very cute and colorful and full of sunshine...but they are not traditionally Lilly. I miss the days when there were tons of shift dresses in a huge selection of whimsical prints instead of trendier dresses that are trying to appeal to the younger masses. Not to mention, the lengths of the skirts and dresses are EXTREMELY short. I admit that I do like how short they are (for I am an 18 year old girl who works out consistently so I can actual wear such short clothes), but for the older, more conservative Lilly buyer, it can be very isolating.

vs. New....
I know that recently the brand was bought by the company that owns Tommy Bahama, so that might be part of the reason for the shift in target buyer as well as merchandise...but I'm afraid that if Lilly continues to stray from their traditional, classic roots, it might not be around much longer. Also, the prices on Lilly? Oh my goodness!! They've definitely gone up!! I just wish that Lilly would think twice about what they're trying to do and re-evaluate what they've become.

I hope I'm not the only one that feels this way!! What do y'all think about the "new" Lilly Pulitzer? Let me know!!

Have a great day!!

xoxo, Hannah
