Yay! Lilly Canvas!

On Saturday, the Lilly Pulitzer store in Greenwich, CT, a couple of print designers came to hand-paint canvases that were going to be raffled off later that day. Since the Greenwich store is my absolute favorite, my mother and I drove over to see our friends at the store and see the print designers. We both entered the raffle, and I am SO happy to say that I won it!! I got a call yesterday night from the Greenwich store and they told me (in very high pitched, girly squeals) that I won one of the canvases!! I love it!!!!!!!!!

My mom drove over first thing this morning to pick it up, and the actual canvas is shown above!!!

For some reason, I've had really good luck this year with winning things! Let's hope it continues!!!

Christmas in NYC!

Yesterday, my mother and I headed out on our annual trip to New York City that we take every fall. It was our 8th year going, and sadly it was probably our last because of my going to college next year!! This was also the latest in the year that we've ever gone, which was nice because we got to see the fabulous Christmas decorations in the city!!

We took the train in to Grand Central, which only takes about 50 minutes! It wasn't crowded at all, thankfully, and we headed out onto Madison Avenue straight away. 

This picture doesn't really look like much, but if you're an avid Gossip Girl lover then you will recognize this area as being Chuck Bass' Palace Hotel!! 

Here are the window displays at Tiffany's!! They were so pretty this year and my mom and I stopped at every single one to see the various jewels and the movements of the sets.

And here is the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center!! It was noticeably small this year, though. Rockefeller Center was absolutely packed. 

I AM SO HAPPY THAT I SAW THIS. At Barney's, they were doing a special tribute display for Lady Gaga for Christmas. Since I am absolutely obsessed with Lady Gaga, I made sure that we would stop by Barney's to take pictures. 

My mom and I made sure to stop by Lilly Pulitzer on Madison...

Everything is hand painted and I LOVE EVERYTHING.

My mom made reservations at a restaurant in NYC called the King's Carriage House. It was an absolutely adorable British inspired restaurant and we were so obsessed. The service was great, the food was great, and the interior design of the place was perfect!! 

All in all, my mom and I had a great time shopping in New York City!

"The Lilly Store"

My mother and I have an obsession. It was started much before I was born with my mom, and has lasted (and increased) to today. The obsession is Lilly Pulitzer. It's actually a serious problem because we cannot control ourselves, especially when there are always sales on the internet and in the 3 Lilly stores near us. We used to keep all of our spring and summer Lilly in a storage center in another town, but we couldn't live through the separation. Last week, my mom packed up all the bright pink, green, turquoise, and yellow goodness in her car and brought it to it's real home. During the snow day that I had last Wednesday, we cleaned up everything by putting the clothes and accessories and shelves, as well as giving away the things we really didn't need. It's our little inside joke that we now have a "Lilly store" in our basement!

Here is the store in the beginning stages. It seems like a lot...and it is...but it was a lot of fun to organize because it's Lilly!!

My mom has a tote bag problem...

And a Kate Spade problem...so it's genetically inevitable for me to be a mini shopaholic. 

My favorite things in the "store" are my Lilly dresses, of course. I cannot wait until spring so I can wear them all! Hopefully there will be a lot of fun parties and events so I can be Lilly-pink-and-green!!
